Day #5
Jan 09
Sunday, Day 5.
I’d said I would experiment with juicing for five days.
Today’s juice was an EPIC FAIL!
Looks beautiful, right? I’d decided to use up all the rest of the kale since I was getting tired of it and had just bought some new produce at the store.
I added two new things to try: a beet and a small piece of ginger (you can see it there at the bottom-center of the bowl).
Beet juice comes out looking very, VERY dark:
This is just the one beet! So dark, and quite juicy! I had high hopes when I saw this. . . . then I tasted it. OH YUCKY YUCKY YUCKY BEET! It tasted like sharp, beety dirt. That’s the only way I can think to describe it. I’ve never really liked beets, but had always had the canned ones forced on me as a child.
I thought maybe the real, natural ones are better?
No.
They are not better.
They are gross.
But I powered through thinking that the apples, carrots, orange and ginger that I was adding would SURELY cut the taste.
It did not!
Soooo disappointed by this one. You could taste a slight hint of the ginger but it was drowned out by the nasty dirt taste of the beet.
It made about 24 oz. of juice. I think I drank about 4 oz.
Then, I did something I’ve not done yet in these last 5 days of juicing. . .
I threw it out.
I just couldn’t drink it.
You should have seen the look on Paul’s face when he smelled the juice! I think he said something like:
“Oh sweet Lord, that’s nasty!”
Yep, that sums it up!

Hilarious!!! And soooooo gross!!!
Haha – this one really made me laugh
